Street Lawyer Blogg 2

In chapter 16 Michael states that both he and Claire have lost. This means they both lost their chance to save their relationship. They never had time in each of their days to even have any emotional feelings towards each other. So they never had compassion, this pattern drove them to the point of not even loving each other. They had an awkward relationship; they sipped wine in silence and they  only see each other twice through out the day. Once at their annul fast Chinese takeout and at the end of day sipping wine. This made it easy for Michael to notify her of the divorce he wants. When Michael breaks the news that he wants to switch his job to a Street lawyer which pays only minimum wage she gets furious but says nothing because the relationship is already broken. A reason Claire also wants a divorce is because she probably cares too much about money. This scene in the book shows that she is eager and has fortitude in divorcing him. One night  Michael walks through the door of his apartment after work. Claire is standing in front of the door informs him that she has already hired a lawyer for the divorce but she said "If you weren't  leaving me I wouldn't have to waste my money on this lawyer." Since they had a rough relationship they both lost a very important part of their support system and companionship.
Michael Brock has changed immensely. This change began when Hardy held him hostage and started to go over how much money the lawyers in office firm put towards the homeless. This event made him curious so he decided to work with his friend Mordecai with the homeless soup kitchen. So he worked their and he meet a homeless family and got attached to the kids. The family later died from carbon monoxide poison in their car. He saw the dead bodies of a homeless family that died. Which has softened his heart and changed his ways. A man encouraged Michael to receive a file that enlists evictions. So he steals the file for  revenge for the homeless. These actions are not justified because he committed a crime, he should've found a legal way to help the homeless.  Hector Palma one of his friends from the firm helps Michael out because he was in the eviction from River Oaks. Some characters in the story think that Michael is going through a midlife crises. I think that he is going through something but not a midlife crises. He recently went through a hard time when he was held hostage he was probably analyzing his life and certainly death. Ultimately I think he just has a change of heart for the homeless instead of caring too much about money.
